About the KC Wine Co
The best part of the KC Wine Co isn’t the wine, but the atmosphere. Just like Pirtle Winery in Weston, Missouri, the winery feels like you’re in the country, not minutes from sprawling suburbia.
A large lawn is filled with picnic tables, tables on the patio and yard games near the vineyard. There are indoor tables, but everyone was outdoors enjoying the gorgeous fall day.
Despite the no children signs at the winery, there were a handful of babies and young kids on our Sunday afternoon trip, and no one seems to mind. We had stopped by after a few hours at the KC Pumpkin Patch, so maybe that had something to do with it.
Sunday afternoon was a great time to go – the space wasn’t crowded and service was good. Unfortunately, we did get there after the live music had ended, but they have a robust event schedule with live music most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Like most wineries, there are only snacks available – chips & salsa and charcuterie. But for their big events, they often have food trucks in the parking lot.
What to Get at KC Wine Co
We had a few samples of their white wines, and went with a bottle of Seyval Blanc. A lot of the drinks we tried were very sweet, including the hard cider slushie, wine slushie and Prairie Rose.
Overall, it’s the relaxing, outdoor atmosphere that makes KC Wine Co, rather than its wine. xx, Libbie.
