About Berkley Riverfront Park
Berkley Riverfront Park is named in honor of former Mayor Richard L. Berkley. He served the Kansas City community from 1979 to 1991, creating task forces on food and hunger, drugs and AIDS. He also brought 911 services to the city and developed the Kansas City Jazz Commission.
The development of the park is recent, in tandem with the redevelopment of downtown Kansas City and the River Market. The area is still changing, with a 400-unit luxury apartment building on the way.
What to do at Berkley Riverfront Park
Berkley Riverfront Park has a lot to offer, including:
- Picnic tables
- KC Crew sand volleyball courts
- Town of Kansas Observation Deck
- 15-mile Riverfront Heritage Trail
- Views of the Christopher S. Bond Bridge and the Heart of Americas Bridge

The spacious park is the perfect spot to get outside and be active, and adds much needed green space in downtown Kansas City. xx, Libbie.
