Powell Gardens is a 970-acre botanical garden located east of Kansas City, Missouri. Powell Gardens includes eight display gardens, contemporary architecture, a 3-mile nature trail, cafes and a gift shop.

Good for: Families, locals, tourists, meat lovers and vegetarians.
Tip: No matter how much food your table gets, order the mac and cheese.
Along with jazz and fountains, Kansas City is known for their BBQ. Throughout my 100 Days of Kansas City, I have a handful of BBQ restaurants to go to – new and old. There are the classics, like Kansas City Joe’s, Gates and Arthur Bryant’s. And there’s the new favorites like Q39 and Char Bar.

Tip: Give yourself a few hours to wander the museum, it’s bigger than you think!
#13 – Starlight Theater

Good for: Large groups, date night, theater lovers
Tip: Splurge a little and get seats close to the stage.
Starlight Theater is a 7,598-seat outdoor amphitheater that produces Broadway shows and hosts concert artists. It is located near the Kansas City Zoo, about 15 minutes southeast of downtown Kansas City.
