#100DaysofLibbieLovesKC – 0/100

100 Kansas City Things For the next year, I’m challenging myself to do 100 Kansas City things and *actually* write about my experiences.

I just really love Kansas City. I’ve lived here for two years and I’ve done a lot, but haven’t even scratched the surface of what I’d like to do. This project gives me a reason. I’ve also been looking to write more for fun and for me (not just for work). This project gives me the content.

I was inspired to start this after stumbling upon Elise Joy’s instagram. She’s doing the 100DayProject, a creative, sort of awakening where you make something every single day for 100 days. The idea is that because creativity is a skill – the more you practice, the better you get. And in 100 days, you can get pretty good at something.

I love love love the idea of this project, but I really wanted my project centered around Kansas City. And it’s just not feasible in 100 days. I’m traveling a lot this summer and won’t be in Kansas City for 100 days straight (probably ever). I also have a life, a job and friends and can’t commit realistically (or financially) to do a Kansas City activity every. single. day. So I’m tweaking my version a bit. 100 Kansas City things and 105 days of blogging in one year.

Goals:

  • Complete 100 Kansas City Things in 1 year
  • Write 105 blog posts (1 for each activity and 5 reflections)
  • Get my experience featured in some sort of KC publication (VisitKC.com / Ink Mag / etc.)
  • Build a guide of Kansas City that’s useful – not just for me but others, too.

Activity Ideas:
As of right now, I have a Google doc full of about 80-ish activities and I’m hoping the other 20 pop up throughout the year. Here are a few of the activities I am most looking forward to:

So, that’s the idea behind 100DaysofLibbieLovesKC. I can’t wait to get started and share more. If you’d like, check back here to see what I’ve been doing or follow me on Instagram.
